is that we are strongly community and family oriented—since
our work is so much a part of our lives, our surroundings have
to be just as important to us as what we do. Ergo RBLaw. This
page introduces you to our offices at The Promontory, as well
as the community of Rancho

About Rancho Bernardo

Commerce 2002 Official Telephone Directory.]
Rancho Bernardo is a unique and proud community. While it is
part of the City of San Diego, it is a community within itself
governed and represented by a Community Council, planning
board and recreation council that represent the community at
city functions. It is also unique in that it has and lives by
its own strict sets of Covenants, Conditions, and
Restrictions.

Rancho Bernardo is located on over 5,800 acres, 25 miles north
of downtown San Diego. The area is inhabited by people from
all over the United States and numerous foreign countries.
Early residents, as well as newcomers, are still in awe as
they drive down Interstate 15, from either direction, and come
upon this lush valley nestled between rock-studded hills. The
natural and man-made beauty is overwhelming. The people are
close-knit and supporting of each other and their peaceful and
beautiful surroundings. They are proud of their homes,
recreation centers, industrial parks, local businesses,
schools, churches, Chamber of Commerce, clubs, volunteer
organizations and all the other things that have made Rancho
Bernardo a world-renowned model community.
Rancho Bernardo is fortunate to be a part of the
Poway Unified School District, regarded as one of the best
in the California school system.
The population of Rancho Bernardo is considered moderately
well to do, having an estimated median income of $65,650,

The Promontory
The Promontory rests on a bluff
with expansive views of the community and the Rancho Bernardo
hills. Built in 1989, the building is a 100,000 square foot,
three story business center with innovative double wing design
complemented by two interior atriums with water features, koi
pond, landscaped sculpture garden and a 270 degree panoramic
view of Rancho Bernardo.
The entrance to the building features a 22-foot high sculpture
entitled "The Astronomer" by Jerry Peart. Exterior building
features include the first extensive use of Indian sandstone
tile imported directly from Agra, India complemented by solar
bronze glass and exposed columns. In December 1989 a 100-year
time capsule was placed in the east courtyard of the building.
The Promontory which is owned by Promontory Associates,
General Partnership, was designed by Conwell Marshall
Architect and built by Neilson Construction Company.
